Guess My Number Giveaway

Jessica, over at Teach on a Limb, shared a fun new product that she made  the other day on her blog. It is a Guess My Number activity. This activity would be great for a place value unit or just as a review throughout the year. Students will read through clues and determine what digits are in each place. My students love this. I used a similar activity with my students and they absolutely loved it. They were disappointed when I ran out of clues, so I'm excited to have another set now! Click on the picture below to check it out!

Now for the giveaway part! Jessica has offered to donate a copy of her product to the lucky blogger who can guess my number!
Here are the details:
-Only make one guess (the clues are open ended enough that it could be a few different answers)
-You must be a follower of my blog and Jessica's blog
-You must agree that if you win, you will host your own Guess My Number giveaway on your blog (if you have one). I'll send this to the winner of your giveaway as long as they are following both of our blogs.

Here are your clues:
-3 digit number
-all digits are odd
-the hundreds place is the smallest digit
-the ones place is the largest digit
-no repeated numbers

Leave a comment and make your guess! Good luck :)

This giveaway has now ended. Bethany H. won with a guess of 379! Thanks for participating!

Any Coaches Out There??

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be a part of the interviews for the new 4th grade teacher.  I took notes of some good answers that will hopefully help me in the future :) It was tough to choose someone...there were a lot of really good candidates. We narrowed it down to two so I'm anxious to hear who our principal chose.

Anyways, while I was chatting it up with my principal, I found out that the volleyball coach position is open. I played in high school and have always thought about coaching. I love the game and am seriously considering the position. I have never coached before so I am nervous about that and.....I wouldn't just coach one team. I would coach the 7th grade, 8th grade, and possibly a 5th/6th team. I would really love to hear from any of you if you have coached before and your thoughts on coaching. Is it hard to balance the time between coaching and teaching? Do the parents drive you crazy? Anything you could tell me about coaching would be helpful!!

Teacher Toolbox Trio

Today I'm a linking up with Eberopolis for her Teacher Toolbox Trio linky party to share a product I have made, a product I have purchased, and a product that is on my wishlist!

1. Something I Have Made:

This is the first year that I have had to teach Greek and Latin root words so I split the root words into groups and made task cards for each set. I used the task cards in conjunction with the product that I purchased that I want to share with you!

2. Something I Have Purchased:

I used this product to introduce and teach root words. This product comes with graphic organizers for each of the root words. The graphic organizers have space for students to write a definition, give examples, use the root word in a sentence, and draw a picture. My students really enjoyed doing these each week!

3. Something On My Wishlist

Interactive Math Journal

I really, really want this Interactive Math Journals product from Runde's Room. I have read great reviews on sooooo many blogs and think this would be a great way to teach math. Have any of you purchased this product?

What are some products that you have made, purchased, and put on your wishlist?
